About Me

I’m Bernyce, a Media Production and Design student who is passionate about crafting visuals that communicate with intention and leave a meaningful impact. I focus on filming, design and branding, and I enjoy bringing ideas to life through thoughtful storytelling, strong creative direction and attention to detail. I am naturally observant and adaptable, and I approach every project with curiosity, discipline and the drive to constantly refine my craft.

Sports have been a major part of my life and have shaped my character in ways that directly influence my creative work. As of now, I spend my free time in the gym, on the track, and in the handball court. I have been actively competing in Track and Field since 2016, and years of training have taught me discipline, perseverance and the importance of showing up consistently. Track and Field gave me a strong foundation in commitment, hard work and mental strength.

This year, I decided to challenge myself by joining handball, stepping into a completely new sport while continuing my long-standing commitment to track. Learning handball from scratch required focus, humility and adaptability, and balancing two demanding sports pushed me to strengthen my time management skills. Despite being new to the sport, I managed to podium with my team, which reinforced my belief that stepping out of my comfort zone leads to growth.

These experiences have shaped who I am today. They taught me how to work under pressure, stay committed to long-term goals, adapt quickly, and remain resilient through challenges. I bring these qualities into my creative work, approaching every project with dedication, intention and a strong sense of professionalism. Whether I am filming, designing or developing visual concepts, I combine creativity with discipline to create work that is impactful and meaningful.

My Internship Experience

During my internship, I was attached to CNBC Asia under the Studio Operations team. CNBC is an international business and financial news network that provides live market coverage, business updates, and financial news across different regions. CNBC Asia is the Asia-Pacific arm of CNBC, headquartered in Singapore, producing and directing live business news programmes for the region.

As a Studio Operations Intern, I supported the team in the daily production of live business news broadcasts. My role involved assisting with studio preparation before shows, such as turning on studio equipment, preparing cameras, white balancing cameras, checking microphones, and ensuring the studio was ready for anchors and guests. I also worked with programme rundowns on iNews to understand the flow of each show and stay updated on guest timings and segment changes.

During live broadcasts, I assisted with audio mixing by managing microphones for anchors and guests. I also controlled camera settings, zooms, and shots based on instructions from the directors in the control room. Since the shows were broadcast live, I had to stay focused, listen carefully, and react quickly to instructions.

This internship gave me valuable hands-on experience in a professional live broadcast environment. It taught me the importance of communication, teamwork, accuracy, and staying calm under pressure. I also gained a better understanding of how much coordination happens behind the scenes before a programme reaches the audience. Through this experience, I became more confident in working with studio equipment, interacting professionally with colleagues and guests, and adapting to the fast-paced nature of the media industry.
